A unique piece from Wayúu

Wale' Kerü, the spider that inspired the Wayúu people in the creation of fabrics. He showed the artisans the originality of their paths and the different geometric symbols that emerged from their canvas. The chinchorro and its fabric have the essence given to them by the Wale' Kerü spider, and it is related to the events of the life cycle of the Wayúu women. The art of weaving forms an essential part of their culture, knowledge is given to the artisans generally at puberty. For the creation of the Chinchorro, we think of a piece similar to the hammock whose body is more elastic and transparent. The natives designated it as the cradle of the gods. Using vertical loom weaving, Wayuu women build a piece full of design and tradition.
