ARTISAN CRAFTS

Guatemalan craftsmanship is admired worldwide!

  • Mayan Textiles — handwoven on backstrap looms, especially in regions like Chichicastenango, Sololá, and Quetzaltenango. Each huipil (blouse) and textile carries sacred patterns and symbols tied to identity and cosmology.
  • Ceramics & Pottery — inspired by ancient Mayan designs, crafted in highland villages and used both for daily life and ceremonial purposes.
  • Woodwork & Masks — colorful masks and wooden carvings, especially from towns like Chichicastenango, play a key role in traditional dances and celebrations.
