A unique piece from Córdoba y Sucre

In Córdoba and Sucre, artisans protect the tradition of totumo carving, inherited by the ancient Zenú indigenous people. The wood comes from a tree with a leafy crown and large fruits that grows wild and is used in various uses due to its versatility. In the past, the totumo was used during ancestral ceremonies and in the creation of practical objects. Currently, there are some towns that continue with traditions and express their culture in different ornamental pieces.
