A unique piece from Saraguro

From the Saraguro ethnic group, each piece is woven by the laborious artisans' hands, the skill is innate in them and everyone from childhood develops and perfects it. They do not use illustrations, all the models are in the minds of the artisans. There are simple and laborious fabrics. The love in shaping them adds to the patience of those who make them. It takes them about four days to make a large necklace, but if they dedicate themselves fully, more time is given for the art. Depending on the complexity of the design, preparation can take up to a week. And although the exact number of beads (mullos) varies depending on the design and size, it is estimated that each row contains around 300 mulos. The accessory became an essential piece in her clothing, which contrasts with the tones of the blouses.
